for your next step.

Answers to common questions about care, eligibility, insurance and daily life at Superhero Kids PPEC.

What is a PPEC?

A Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Center provides non-residential medical care for eligible children with medically complex conditions. Superhero Kids is licensed by the Agency for Health Care Administration and serves families in Palm Beach County.

Does my child qualify?

We serve children from birth through age 20 whose medical needs require ongoing skilled nursing care prescribed by their primary care physician. Children must be medically stable. Our team can help you understand eligibility and the enrollment process.

Who will be caring for my child?

Our medical team includes a Medical Director, Director of Nursing, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants. Services and therapies follow your child’s physician-prescribed plan of care.

What is your process if a child becomes sick in the center?

A nurse stays with your child in a separate isolation room to monitor them. The team notifies the parent or guardian and provides an update on the child’s condition.

What insurances are accepted?

Superhero Kids PPEC services are fully covered at no cost for eligible approved children covered by Medicaid (CMS Molina, Sunshine, Humana, Community Care Plan and Simply). Our team helps families confirm coverage and complete the required paperwork.

Do you have transportation services?

Yes. We help arrange transportation for eligible children between your home or your child’s school and the center. Call us to learn how it works for your family.

When is the center open?

Monday through Saturday, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Eligible children may attend up to 12 hours per day, six days a week, according to their primary physician’s prescription.

Why Superhero Kids PPEC?

Our goal is to provide compassionate care in a stimulating environment where children can socialize, learn and grow. The team works to accommodate each child’s unique needs and support families through the process.
